Kelsey Miranda has been on staff at Discover Hope 517 since October of 2021 after previously volunteering since August of 2020. Kelsey and her Husband, Mike, reside in Newton with their 3 children, Taylor, Abby and Michael. Kelsey graduated from Newton Senior High School in 2005, and earned her Associates degree in December of 2010 from DMACC in Newton. She loves to be involved at her home Church, The Way, by being on the prayer and tech team and writes devotional blogs in her spare time. Her motivation for serving in ministry is rooted in Isaiah 12:4, where she seeks to glorify God by praising, proclaiming, and promoting His goodness.sdjkfdasjlasdjfljdjladfjlsa
Katie Finch
Resource Center Director
Katie Finch has been on staff with Discover Hope since October 2022. She and her five children (Clayton, Brailynn, Jace, Adi, and Abel) are Newton natives, and she graduated from Newton, IA, in 2010. She and her family attend Christian Life Church in Newton. In her free time, she likes to spend quiet time with Jesus, spend time with her kids, and do photography. Her two favorite Bible verses are Philippians 4:13 and Proverbs 3:5-6

Kevin McConnell
RESIDENT MANAGER
Kevin has been on staff since November of 2023. Born in Osecola and moved to Newton when he was 3 and has been here ever since! He was a part of the National Guard from 1978-1982. Kevin has two children and 5 grandkids. He attends New Creation Church. He loves to play guitar, fish, camp and spend time with family in his free time. Kevins favorite Bible verse is Jeremiah 29:11, he found it on a bible cover and has always liked it since!

Robbie Robinson is a man after God’s own heart! He is married to Emily Robinson and they have 6 children together. He is the Founder and Executive Director of Discover Hope 517 Ministry and Pastor of New Creation Church in Newton, IA. He loves being loud and spending time with his family. He enjoys weightlifting and playing basketball. In his spare time, he loves to sit with the Lord! Sharing the gospel message is his heartbeat!

Josh Wermager

Josh has served at Discover Hope for the last few years in multiple ways including being a Board Member. Josh and his wife, Teresa , have lived in Newton for the last 23 years with their two children. Josh is an engineer at Vermeer Corporate in Pella. Josh serves at Community Heights Alliance Church in Newton through Prison Fellowship Ministry at the Newton Correctional Facility as well as the Newton Christian School. Josh is blessed to be apart of Discover Hope.
Doug Cupples
Board Member
Doug Cupples was born in Grinnell and moved to Newton when he was 7. Doug is married to Missy Cupples, and they have 3 children: Lexie, Bailey, and Cade. Doug attended Crown College and has been involved in ministry for 30 years. He currently works at Lauterbach Buick GMC and serves as a board member on the Jasper County Board of Supervisors. His passion is preaching the gospel and caring for people and his hobbies are lifting and nutrition. Doug has been on the board here at Discover Hope 517 since 2023.
Mitch Roush
Treasure
Mitch is the current treasurer on the Discover Hope board. Outside of the board, Mitch is a jeweler at The Jewelers Bench. Mitch is a Newton native and is married to his high school sweetheart. His purpose on the DH board is to help Robbie reach his BHAGs (big hairy audacious goals). With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.
