What is Be Transformed?
Looking for a long-lasting solution to your struggles with addiction?
THEN JOIN US FOR BE TRANSFORMED!
We’ve teamed up with The Addiction Connection and are now using their Be Transformed curriculum. This program is ongoing and delivered classroom-style, providing guidance and education on the most effective way to combat addiction, the sin issue in participants’ lives.
Here’s a quick overview of the program consisting of 12 units using the acronym:
The first lesson focuses on the word “Be” of the Be TRANSFORMED acronym. Here, Mark teaches participants struggling with addiction about identity, which is crucial for anyone to understand. Also, knowing the character of God and Him as Creator is essential for any follower of Christ.
Questions answered in this first lesson are: Who are you? Who’s your Creator? Addiction– what is it, and why is it important to define it correctly? The stages of transformation are explained using scriptural truths. Mark’s lesson emphasizes that you cannot transform your own heart. Only the Holy Spirit changes the heart’s desires.
“This program is useless if the Holy Spirit doesn’t transform the heart.” – Mark E. Shaw
And so the glory will be to God whatever good results may come from the use of this brand-new curriculum.
After 60 days of being in this program, we aim to partner you with a navigator to go through our New Life Program. This 12-month, 3-phase program is designed to aid new believers in understanding their faith and identity in Christ through curriculum, peer support, mentorship, and opportunities to serve
NEWTON: Mondays 6-7 pm | Thursdays 10:30 am – 11:30 am
Navigators have themselves had success in recovery and are able to help someone in that transformation process in our New Life program. They are trained and equipped to have the skills and tools needed to assist the person they are assigned to walk with.
Spiritual mentors are individuals grounded in the Christian faith. Our mentors are introduced during the later phase of the New Life program designed to transition the recoveree to a faith community for support and growth in their faith journey.
If you want to become a Navigator/Mentor, please complete the application and return it to Discover Hope 517! For more information on training, please see our events page.
*No training classes are scheduled at this time. Check back for updates! COMING FALL OF 2023!
